Live Burn Training

Today, we hosted a Live Fire Rodeo training day. It covered annual training requirements such as Suppression, Rapid Intervention, Search & Rescue, Ladder Placement, Knots, Forceful Entry and mutual aid teamwork.

We would like to thank everyone who participated and made today a great time. Our mutual aid departments who attended were, Meco Volunteer Fire Company, Sammonsville Volunteer Fire Company, and Sir William Volunteer Fire Company. A big thank you to R.G.L. Volunteer Fire Company for bringing their Cascade system down as well as Gloversville Fire Department for filling bottles. GAVAC was also on scene for any medical emergency. Also thank you the Fulton County EMO Fire Coordinator and the Deputy EMS coordinators for your assistance today. Overall it was a great day of training and team building.

More to come in the future!

Structure Fire

Today we were dispatched to a smoke condition which turned out to be a working structure fire. Our initial crews made a fantastic stop and contained the fire to the kitchen with minor smoke and heat damage to the rest of the first floor. Meco was automatically dispatched for our daytime mutual aid agreement. Gloversville Fire was requested as the FAST team and Mayfield was placed on standby for us. The Fulton County EMO office, Fulton County Investigation Team and GAVAC were also requested to the scene. Yet again another great example of teamwork in action. Thank you all for your assistance and our thoughts are with the homeowner.
