Motor Vehicle Accident

Last night at a little after 10:00pm we were dispatched for what sounded like a very complicated and involved Motor Vehicle Accident on State Highway 349. We closed the road for approximately 3 hours and we would like to thank everyone who had to be rerouted. We would like to thank the two civilians who stopped to assist before our arrival. Also we would like to thank Meco VFC, the Sheriff's office, the New York State Police, National Grid, the Fulton County Emergency Management Office, and the Fulton County Emergency Communication Center for their outstanding effort last night.

RecruitNY 2019

Today we held an open house as part of the RecruitNY program. We had an abundance of visitors as well as a great boot drive. A special thank you to Assemblymen Smullen for stopping in and showing his continuing support of our local community! As always without our volunteers none of this would be possible. We are at the station every Monday night at 7pm so feel free to stop in.

New York State Fire Reporting Workshop

On Thursday evening, President Logan Barclay, Sergeant Daniel Batease II and several members of other fire companies in Fulton County attended a training by the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control on the proper use of the New York State Fire Reporting System at the Pleasant Square fire station.

The New York State Fire Reporting System is the central data collection mechanism for more than 1,800 fire departments in the State. Incident reports from the fire service provide essential information about fires and their causes and consequences, as well as descriptive data about the many other types of emergency services fire departments provide to the community. The data can help the fire service devise ways to do its job better and help the community at large improve its overall fire protection system. It is possible to use fire data to draw conclusions about the adequacy of fire and building codes and consumer product safety and to measure the effects of fire safety education programs.
