Soccer Pictures

Today, Fulton United Soccer Club is using our station for soccer photos for their players, because they were looking for an indoor location to do photos this year. We are happy to be able to assist such a valuable community organization in this way. Hope everyone has a fun year.

Dry Conditions Still Causing Brush Fires

Reminder- The National Weather Service has issued an elevated risk of wildfire spread again today. Very dry fuels and low humidity values will continue to contribute to an elevated risk of wildfire spread across eastern New York for today. The NYS Burn Ban is also still in effect until May 14th.

Pleasant Square units responded to a reported brush fire this afternoon at approximately 12:30pm. Upon arrival a small brush fire was located on the side of State Highway 349 which had extended to a fence. The crew on our Brush Truck 1342 extinguished the fire and then performed overhaul, while the crew of 1312 refilled and supplied 1342.

The cause of fire appeared to be accidental and could have been caused by a motorist/passenger disposing a cigarette out of their window while driving by.

American Flag Donations

Each year, PSVFC hangs 32 American Flags the length of Easterly Street starting on Memorial Day. Flags, brackets and poles that are in disrepair must be replaced annually. Please consider making a donation to help us replace some of our American Flags, so we can continue this tradition. Each American flag can cost $30-$40 depending on whether the bracket or pole needs to be replaced as well.

If you would like to make a donation, please mail a check to:

Pleasant Square Volunteer Fire Company

135 Easterly Street

Gloversville, NY 12078

Please include a note or indicate in the memo of you check that your donation is for an American Flag.

Any and all donations are appreciated.
