Thank You For Supporting Our Toy Drive

Thank you to everyone who opened up their hearts and was able to donate to our Christmas Toy Drive. With your help we were able to collect 4 1/2 large boxes of toys, 3 bicycles and received $354.50 that to be used to purchase more toys. While shopping a Walmart associate donated $5 and Walmart donated $100, bringing the grand total to $459.50. All toys will go toward collection efforts by the Fulton County Salvation Army and will stay in Fulton and Montgomery counties.

We would like to extend our thanks to Meco Volunteer Fire Company for bringing over a fire truck and directing traffic and Empire Ambulance for attending and transporting the collected toys. Thank you Alexis Houser, Miss Erie Canal 2020, for helping collect toys and the Angus family of Bleecker for including King the festive miniature horse. Thank you also to Fulton County Area News and Front Page Gloversville for taking an active role in promoting this event.

Pleasant Square History Circa 1950

A volunteer fire company has lately been organized to protect a northeastern section of the town of Johnstown. It will roughly include the area within a two-mile radius of the Talmadge Parsons farm. The firehouse has already been built on the west side of the extension of Easterly street. Attorney S. Edward Brown is the lawyer for this fire company, and he selected the name for it, Pleasant Square Fire company.
